The event for video game fans from the south of the island will take place from 7 to 9 September.

The Cabildo of Fuerteventura and the Town Hall of Pájara are preparing to celebrate a new edition of the Maxonet 2018 campus in Morro Jable. The Regional Ministry and the New Technologies Department, led by Ylenia Alonso and Manuel Alba respectively, are organizing the Maxonet Campus in Morro Jable for the weekend of September 7-9, leaving the capital after nine editions in Puerto del Rosario to offer young people from other parts of the island the opportunity to enjoy and learn different skills through video games. This free, playful event takes place at the Morro Jable Sports Centre and there are still places for young people who would like to register (
The Minister for New Technologies, Ylenia Alonso, emphasizes that the aim of this event is to reach other parts of the island, in this case the area furthest from the capital, to this Lan party. Young people who do not have the opportunity to participate in the annual event in Puerto del Rosario can enjoy Maxonet this weekend and participate in the various video game tournaments with their friends.
Cabildo and the City Council continue to promote and use new technologies for video games.
The dynamic follows the same philosophy as the Lan Party in the capital and offers a space in which young people can participate in various tournaments, both with computers and the PS4.
In this first edition in the south of the island, the collaboration of the Lighthouse Cultural Association of Jandia stands out – a youth collective that organizes all kinds of recreational activities in the municipality, and that weekend will be responsible for managing parallel activities to the event. The idea is to combine screen time with off-screen actions, including board games such as the traditional deck of cards. The aim of this combination is to learn how to make a healthy and moderate consumption of technology, as well as to provide participants with the necessary tools to personally control the time they use it so that it does not negatively affect their health and family and social relationships.
For those who want to participate even if they do not live in the capital, the Cabildo will provide a free transport service with departures on Friday 7 from Puerto del Rosario at 16:00 hours and return on Sunday at 10:00 am.
